Saturday Community Classes
Ages: Classes are open to individuals age 18 and older.
Funding: Eligible participants may use OPWDD or DDD funding.

APOTHECARY & SOAP MAKING
Saturdays, 9:30 AM–11:00 AM
$75 per 1.5-hour class
$75 material fee per month
A hands-on class where participants create soaps, bath products, simple herbal products, and other useful items. Participants will practice measuring, following step-by-step directions, choosing materials, safely using tools, and completing a project from beginning to end. The class encourages independence, decision-making, problem-solving, communication, and social interaction while learning practical skills that can be used at home and in the community.

POTTERY
Saturdays, 11:30 AM–1:00 PM
$75 per 1.5-hour class
$75 material fee per month
Participants will explore clay through fun, hands-on pottery projects while learning basic techniques for shaping, building, decorating, and finishing their work. Activities encourage participants to make choices, follow directions, develop fine-motor and hand-eye coordination skills, solve problems, and express their creativity. Working alongside others also provides opportunities to practice communication, sharing materials, patience, and positive social interaction.

JEWELRY & BEAD EMBROIDERY
Saturdays, 1:30 PM–3:00 PM
$75 per 1.5-hour class

Participants will design and create jewelry and bead embroidery projects using a variety of beads, colors, patterns, and materials. Participants will practice making choices, organizing materials, following patterns and multi-step directions, and completing projects independently. The class also provides opportunities to strengthen concentration, fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, problem-solving, self-expression, and communication while working and socializing with others.

HANDWORK — SEWING & WEAVING
Saturdays, 3:30 PM–5:00 PM
$75 per 1.5-hour class
$75 material fee per month
Participants will explore sewing, weaving, and other handwork projects while learning practical techniques for creating useful and decorative items. Activities may include threading needles, simple hand sewing, weaving, working with yarn and fabric, following patterns, and completing projects from beginning to end. Participants will practice making choices, organizing materials, following multi-step directions, and using tools safely. The class also supports hand-eye coordination, fine-motor skills, concentration, problem-solving, creativity, independence, communication, and positive social interaction while working alongside others.
