About the Founder

My work began through years of supporting teens and young adults on the autism spectrum, where I saw how often their experiences were misunderstood—especially when their challenges were viewed only through behavior, rather than through how they experience the world.

Again and again, I met young people who were capable, thoughtful, and trying their best, but who felt overwhelmed by expectations that did not match how they learn, think, or process their environment.

These experiences shaped my approach.

At Next Step Skills, I focus on understanding the whole person—what supports them, what creates stress, and what allows them to grow with confidence and independence. I believe meaningful progress begins with trust, connection, and a genuine understanding of each individual.

I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education, an Autism Specialist certificate, and training in PDA-affirming approaches. My work has also been shaped by many years in Waldorf education, where learning is viewed as deeply individual and connected to the whole person.

Alongside my professional work, I have an interest in nature and an herbalist background, which continues to influence a calm, thoughtful, and grounded approach to supporting each individual.
